week [Intro] All week long I keep it moving All week long I feel it coming [Verse 1] Monday morning, shoes on the floor Clock keeps knocking at my door Coffee cold and the sky looks grey But I got a little rhythm tucked away Tuesday talking, Wednesday slow Same old faces, same old road Thursday night, I start to smile Friday’s calling from a mile [Pre-Chorus] I got work on my shoulders But a song in my feet I got dreams in my pocket And a heart on the beat When the lights come calling I know where I’ll be Out there with the weekend people Dancing myself free [Chorus] I work all week Just to dance all night I save my soul For the weekend light I move my body Till the morning comes We are the weekend people Under one big sun [Post-Chorus / Drop Hook] Work all week Dance all night Weekend people Feel alright Move your body Touch the light Weekend people Come alive [Verse 2] Boss man says, “You look tired today” I just laugh and say, “I’m on my way” There’s a bassline hiding in my bones There’s a party waiting when I get home Paycheck short but the feeling’s high Got my friends and a Friday sky No gold chain, no limousine Just a floor, a groove, and a dancing dream [Pre-Chorus] I got work on my shoulders But a song in my feet I got dreams in my pocket And a heart on the beat When the lights come calling I know where I’ll be Out there with the weekend people Dancing myself free [Chorus] I work all week Just to dance all night I save my soul For the weekend light I move my body Till the morning comes We are the weekend people Under one big sun [Bridge] If you’re tired, come on If you’re low, come through There’s a rhythm waiting To carry you If the week got heavy Let the speakers speak We got one night glowing At the end of the week [Final Chorus] I work all week Just to dance all night I save my soul For the weekend light I move my body Till the morning comes We are the weekend people Under one big sun [Final Drop Hook] Work all week Dance all night Weekend people Feel alright Move your body Touch the light Weekend people Come alive [Outro] All week long I keep it moving All week long For one night grooving
