Build a Little Zion

[DO NOT SING] I've got a question. It might get me in trouble. When will we have enough temples? [Verse 1] There's a temple to the north of me, Another to the south. Another one announced somewhere— I'm starting to lose count. I love those sacred houses, But here's what's on my mind: How many do we build before We leave no poor behind? [Chorus] When will we have enough temples? Is there somewhere we can check? Will Heaven send a little note That says, “All right—that's it”? Build the temple, make the covenant, Then take that love outside. Maybe everything we're learning there Is teaching us Zion. [Verse 2] We've learned to give our ten percent. We've done it faithfully. But what if more could help the folks Who live right down our street? A widow needs some fixing. A family needs some food. Maybe consecration starts By doing neighbors good. [Bridge] Serve the dead— But don't forget the living. If somebody's hurting down my street, Maybe that's where I start giving. [Final Chorus] When will we have enough temples? Maybe I've had it wrong. Maybe God's already built the classroom— We've been studying all along. Learn the covenant. Live the lesson. Take that love outside. We've built some beautiful temples. Now let's build a little Zion. [DO NOT SING] Maybe that's what the temple was trying to teach us.
