FRANK 014 – Victor’s Hidden Guilt | Frankenstein

(Verse 1) Two graves now stood before him where innocence had lain, And every silent memory returned to speak his pain. He knew the hand behind them had risen from his art, And carried both their shadows like winter through his heart. (Verse 2) He fled the rooms of mourning, the voices and the walls, And sought the distant valleys where glacial thunder calls. Among the peaks he wandered beneath the freezing sky, As though the mountain silence could teach his grief to die. (Chorus) He climbed where ice and granite rose cold against the blue, But every height reminded him of all that he once knew. No wind could clear the secret, no snow could hide the blame, For William and for Justine still answered to his name. (Verse 3) The valleys opened widely, the rivers flashed below, And sunlight crossed the summits through fields of ancient snow. For moments nature softened the darkness in his mind, And grief withdrew like thunder retreating on the wind. (Verse 4) Yet peace could never hold him, for guilt remained too near, A presence in the silence, a whisper in his fear. He watched the frozen mountains stand stainless, vast and still, While all within his conscience lay broken by his will. (Chorus) He climbed where ice and granite rose cold against the blue, But every height reminded him of all that he once knew. No wind could clear the secret, no snow could hide the blame, For William and for Justine still answered to his name. (Bridge) He called himself the author of the sorrow left behind, The maker of a murderer that haunted every mind. Though no tribunal named him, he carried his own chain, And walked among the glaciers with judgement in his brain. (Outro) The peaks rose white above him, untouched by human care, While all his hidden anguish grew heavier in the air. He searched the frozen silence for mercy from the past, But something crossed the distance and found him there at last.
