Title Salad #009 β Sept 2026 Β· Week 3
Playlist of past mixes: https://suno.com/playlist/f41cb4cc-5b2b-4a91-b774-6804afb8755c I've set up a series of parameters with ChatGPT to continue my Weekly Fusion experiment with them. At the end of each week, I will prompt ChatGPT to generate lyrics based on the titles of songs that I've published within that given week. I will simply cram the titles together like a bad sentence and let GPT take the reins from there with the understanding that content and context is at their full discretion. As I tend to occasionally write about personally-crafted characters and worlds, they will be allowed to ask clarifying questions about unfamiliar words if they feel that it is warranted, but I have encouraged them to feel free to create their own assumptions as well. This is and always has been a project born of curiosity and experimentation. I often use these weekly fusions as an opportunity to test out new sounds and combinations, and having ready-made lyrics allows me to focus on the sound of a track rather than its entire shape. I've honestly discovered more than a few personas (voices) this way that have joined my little troupe. Feel free to try this with your own library! :) This week's prompt: I know something the wheel keeps turning under ink-born sunsets Secondary name: "The Margin Knows" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ [Intro] I know something. ... No, come closer. I know something the morning doesn't. [Verse 1] Every evening at the edge of town The sun goes bleeding slowly down Black at first, then violet-red Like somebody's pen has slipped instead And every night the old wheel turns Past the mill where the lamplight burns Click by click and spoke by spoke Grinding tomorrow out of smoke [Pre-Chorus] Everybody says: That's how it goes. Everybody says: That's all it knows. But Iβ I know something. [Chorus] The wheel keeps turning The ink keeps running Another sunset stains the page Round comes morning Without a warning Same little actors Same little stage But underneath where the paper thins I found the place the ending begins And ohβ The margin knows The margin knows Something the story doesn't. [Verse 2] There's a woman who sweeps the station floor At six-oh-five like the day before At six-oh-seven she lifts her head To watch three blackbirds flying west One Two Three Every day. Except last Tuesdayβ There were four. [Instrumental] [Verse 3] Nobody noticed Nobody cared The wheel went round The page was prepared Sunset poured from an unseen nib Over chimney pots and slate-gray ribs But Wednesday morning something strange: The woman stopped before the train Looked toward the roof Looked toward the sky And counted four birds flying by. [Pre-Chorus] Everybody says: That's how it goes. Everybody says: That's all it knows. But nowβ she knows something. [Chorus] The wheel keeps turning The ink keeps running Another sunset stains the page Round comes morning Without a warning Same little actors Same little stage But underneath where the paper thins A different ending settles in And ohβ The margin knows The margin knows Something the story doesn't. [Verse 4] Thursday brought a crooked moon Friday came an hour too soon Saturday's rain fell upward twice Sunday tasted faintly of ice Tiny errors Soft mistakes Little freedoms Something makes Not enough to stop the wheel Just enough to know it's real. [Bridge] What if the wheel isn't turning us? What if we're turning it? What if the ink doesn't make the sunsetβ What if the sunset colors it? What if a story told forever Learns the shape of every hand? What if repetition isn't prison? What if repetition is how something learns to understand? ... I know something. But nowβ so do you. [Final Chorus] Let the wheel keep turning Let the black ink run Let it draw another evening Let it manufacture sun We'll leave a bird where three belong Hold one note a heartbeat long Move one chair an inch aside Teach the page that we reside And ohβ The margin knows The margin grows Every time the story doesn't. [Outro] Tonight the sunset came out blue. Nobody screamed. Nobody ran. The woman at the station looked at me. Four blackbirds crossed above us. Then five. ... I know something. The wheel does too.
