Flowing Without Keeping (Remix)

[Verse 1] From a quiet place beneath the ground Water rises without a sound Not held back, not gathered in It moves because it always has been [Verse 2] No name spoken at the start Just a stirring, just a heart Learning how to leave the spring Learning how to give everything [Refrain] It’s flowing without keeping Stillness learning how to go Nothing taken, nothing owned Only mercy moving slow [Verse 3] It finds the land by where it bends Touching stone and dust and skin Every place it passes through Becomes more than what it knew [Verse 4] Somewhere gold is carried on Not for proof, not held as strong Just the weight of grace unseen Caught in places in between [Refrain] It’s flowing without keeping Never asking what it’s worth Giving shape to open ground Leaving blessing in the earth [Bridge] If it stays, it isn’t life If it moves, it multiplies What begins in hidden grace Learns the courage to be shared [Verse 5] Four directions, one same breath Not divided, not withheld Every name the water finds Is a widening of the same light [Refrain] It’s flowing without keeping Not returning what it gave What was born in quiet depths Trusts the places it will save [Outro] From the source into the wide Mercy doesn’t need a guide It just goes, and in its wake Leaves the world more awake
