Verse 1 Spotlights blind, but I see her clear Dancing in the back, like she's right here Leather and lace, lips painted red She’s got that look that messes with my head I sing of love, I sing of fire But she’s the one who lights my wire Through the noise, through the haze She’s burning up the night like a stage Chorus She's a rainbow in the crowd Silent scream, but oh so loud We were close, but worlds apart I played my soul, she gave her heart Now she's gone, and I still play Just echoes of that night remain Two stars that burned, then hit the ground She's my rainbow in the crowd Verse 2 She dressed to kill, she came to shine Hoping I’d see the secret sign She caught my eye, I caught her dream But between us stood the silver screen Security lines, the great divide She reached for me, I played my lines Every chord, every breath I gave She danced like she was mine to save Chorus She's a rainbow in the crowd Silent scream, but oh so loud We were close, but worlds apart I played my soul, she gave her heart Now she's gone, and I still play Just echoes of that night remain Two stars that burned, then hit the ground She's my rainbow in the crowd Bridge We came with hopes as big as skies She in heels, me in neon lights But fate don’t care what lovers crave Some dreams are made just to behave Final Chorus (softer, then building up) She's a rainbow in the crowd Never touched, but still allowed To haunt my songs, to move my strings She’s the ghost in every note I sing And though we never found our way She made it worth the songs I played Now she remembers the lights and sound And I'm still chasing rainbows in the crowd
