Milk Cap Summer

[Verse 1] Lunch tray on my lap Foam stack in my hand I traded three Spider-Man For one gold skull brand Binder full of thunder Plastic in my palm Backseat on the way home Feeling like a champ [Pre-Chorus] I knew the rules by heart I knew the shiny ones I knew who'd trade at recess And who'd just clutch and run [Chorus] Pogs in my pocket Pogs in my pocket Flip it, slam it Watch the whole pile drop Pogs in my pocket Pogs in my pocket That was my kingdom Back when a milk cap popped [Verse 2] Gym floor after homeroom Circle on the tile You'd stack 'em like a tower I'd grin that crooked smile Slammers in my zipper Chrome or painted bone I kept the hologram dragon For the day I felt grown [Pre-Chorus] The bell would cut the air We'd crowd in like a storm One quick toss of the disc And somebody's set was gone [Chorus] Pogs in my pocket Pogs in my pocket Flip it, slam it Watch the whole pile drop Pogs in my pocket Pogs in my pocket That was my kingdom Back when a milk cap popped [Bridge] I still smell the cardboard The dusty class-room floor Names written on the back Like treasure, line by line We didn't need much money Just a pocket full of light And one more shiny circle To make the whole day mine [Chorus] Pogs in my pocket Pogs in my pocket Flip it, slam it Watch the whole pile drop Pogs in my pocket Pogs in my pocket That was my kingdom Back when a milk cap popped
