[Narration - Spoken word over soft 5/4 acoustic guitar and gentle cello] This is about Esther, a girl caught between two worlds—Brook, her clever childhood friend who always stood beside her, and Lucaroth, a wounded vampire whose dangerous life somehow saved hers. The wolves were never hunting Esther; they were hunting Lucaroth, who had crossed their path and earned their wrath. When the pack came for him, Brook saw his chance and used his wit to lure the wolves away, giving Lucaroth the opening he needed to protect Esther. Lucaroth defeated the threat, but was badly wounded in the struggle. Now he lies bleeding before Esther, and she must decide what kind of love she can live with. [Intro] [Tempo: Mid-tempo 5/4 time signature] [Instruments: Finger-snapping on beats 2 and 4, warm acoustic guitar rhythm, smooth Rhodes electric piano] [Verse 1] [Vocals: Female soprano, gentle and acoustic] [Instruments: 5/4 acoustic guitar groove, light bass, subtle flute flourish] I stayed beside a wounded man tonight His eyes were dark, yet somehow filled with light Then Lucaroth came and saved my mortal life While Brook used wit to draw the wolves away [Chorus] [Vocals: Soaring female soprano] [Instruments: Warm bass entering, soft hand percussion, sweeping 1970s Broadway strings] Should I give my blood to heal his wound and leave my human world? If I turn to shadow, can I choose his love and lose my life tonight? Leave my safety, leave my breath behind to save his bleeding heart Would I trade my whole humanity to stay forever his? [Verse 2] [Vocals: Male baritone, warm, brooding, emotional] [Instruments: Darker acoustic chords, electric piano, subtle cello undertones] I love you too much to take your life away Your mortal heart deserves another day Brook loves you too, though he may hide it well And I will not become the chain that binds your soul [Chorus] [Vocals: Vocal Duet, female soprano and male baritone harmonies] [Instruments: Full 70s rock opera arrangement, rich string section, driving 5/4 acoustic strumming] We are torn between our love and saving the human world As the shadow calls our names, can we still choose love tonight? Leave all darkness, leave all death behind to heal his bleeding heart Would we trade our whole humanity to be forever bound? [Bridge] [Vocals: Theatrical Duet, high drama, intense delivery] [Instruments: Dramatic crescendo, electric guitar accents, swelling orchestral strings, pulsing 5/4 rhythm] He sinks his sharp fangs deep into her neck to bite She feels the dark warm pulse flowing through her veins Her mortal life is fading as the darkness fills her eyes She wakes a vampire, torn between two worlds for all time [Outro] [Vocals: Female soprano humming softly, then fading into breath] [Instruments: Decrescendo, warm acoustic guitar, mournful solo cello, sustained Rhodes piano chords] [Female vocal hums a slow, trembling melody without words] [Cello echoes the melody as the acoustic guitar gradually fades] [Rhodes sustains the final unresolved chord] [Long pause] [End]
