Pulled up to the curb, and who do I spy? She's got green eyes, and I almost die. Suddenly she smiles at me, I just smile back and say School's in session, she'll learn my lesson School's in session, better pay attention! Neon lights buzzin', food court's a-hummin' low Arcade calling, gotta make the high score, you know But she's still there, by the fountain so bright Like a dream in the daylight, bathed in mall light We cruised past Spencer's, smelled the incense in the air She's laughing with her friends, without a single care My heart's a drum solo, can't keep the beat Gotta find a way to talk to her, make this moment sweet Pretzel in hand, I wander, try to look cool Bumped into a kiosk, spilled my Fresh Squeeze, total fool She saw the whole thing, a smirk played on her lips My stomach did a flip, like a bad magic trick "Clumsy," she said, her voice a low hum "Looks like someone needs a hand," and my senses went numb She helped me clean up, her touch light as a breeze Suddenly the mall faded, just her and me, if you please We talked for a while, 'bout music and dreams Shared headphones, listened to some underground scenes Found out her name was Stacy, and she liked Static Bloom too Suddenly this whole day felt brand new The day was fading, sun sinking low Gotta make my move, gotta let my feelings show "Hey," I said, my voice a little rough "Wanna catch a movie, or maybe something, else?" She looked at me, those green eyes shining bright "Yeah," she said, "I'd like that, tonight alright?" We exchanged numbers, a promise in the air School's still in session, this lesson I will share.
