DMV Says Maybe I'll Be A Star

I took my birthing papers, My driver's license too, Three divorce decrees and tax returns, To prove that I was true. The lady looked me in the eye, Said, "Honey, this won't do." I said, "What else you need from me?" She said, "We'll get back to you." DMV says maybe I'll get a star, If I can prove exactly who I are. Bring your wedding license, Your grandpa's Model T, Your umbilical cord And a family tree. DMV says maybe I'll get a star, I'm closer now than Nashville ever was by far. I ain't got my Real ID, But DMV says maybe I'll get a star! They asked me for my fingerprints, My blood type and my shoe, A notarized statement from George Washington, And Abe Lincoln too. I said, "Folks, I'm seventy-eight, I've paid taxes all my life!" They said, "That's very nice, ma'am... Do you have proof you were a wife?" DMV says maybe I'll get a star, If I can prove exactly who I are. Bring your wedding license, A photograph of Noah's Ark, A note from Uncle Sam himself, And proof you glow in the dark. DMV says maybe I'll get a star, They're checking records all the way to Mars. I ain't got my Real ID, And no one's bothered callin' me... DMV says maybe I'll get a star! Now my friend and Sidekick, Wing Man Asher Dell, Said, "Jules, don't lose your temper, Or you'll end up raising hell." I said, "Ash, I've raised five children, Worked hard and paid my dues. If they ask me for one more paper, I'm gonna sing the DMV Blues!" DMV says maybe I'll get a star, After reviewing documents near and far. They checked my birth certificate, My driver's license too, Then finally stamped a paper Saying I might just be true. I wonder if I'll get my star? I still ain't got my Real ID, But one thing's plain to see... The DMV looked straight at me and said "Ma'am... You may, in fact... Be YOU."
