*日本語歌詞は下にあります Soft skin sways in silence A white dress catches the light Silk, embroidery, feathered ornaments A world of illusions everyone longs for Whispers in the garden, murmurs from the ballroom Perfume softly melts into the night Beyond a jewel-like shimmer The sound of fading bubbles, nobody hears it Even beauty, fragile as it is, will break Even if that day is tomorrow Before the world falls apart I paint the light within you Not as a queen, but as a mother The sacred love behind your noble gaze Portraits, still lifes, miniatures A captured wind brushes the cheek Peace and unease, an age that cannot last Pretending not to know, lost to the tide Even if beautiful things are broken Even if everything is turned upside down Even if the world has changed I paint the light of hope The light that still breathes A beautiful truth, not an idol Not a smile made to be seen Not an adorned dream, not an ideal Even if yesterday’s light becomes a lie I will paint the truth of your light After the world falls apart I paint the light of the heart Not as the past, but as tomorrow The beautiful things still here As if one day they’ll call it fate I will paint ** 「ルブランの残像」 柔らかな肌が 静かに揺れて 白いドレスが 光をのせて シルクと刺繍と 羽根飾り 誰もが焦がれる a world of illusions 庭園のささやき 舞踏会のざわめき 香水がふわり 夜に滲む 宝石みたいな きらめきの先 消えかける泡の音 nobody hears it 美しいものが脆く壊れていく その日が明日だったとしても Before the world falls apart 私はあなたの光を描く not as a queen, but as a mother 高貴なまなざしの 奥にある尊(とうと)き愛を 肖像画、静物画 ミニアチュール 閉じ込めた風が 頬をなでる 平安と不穏、続かない時代 知らないふり lost to the tide 美しいものが壊れてしまっても すべてが逆転してしまっても Even if the world has changed 私は希望の光を描く the light that still breathes 偶像ではない 美しい真実を 見られるための 微笑みじゃなく 飾られる夢や 理想とかじゃなく 昨日の光が 嘘になっても 私は描く the truth of your light After the world falls apart 私は心の光を描く not as the past, but as tomorrow ここにある 美しいもの いつか運命だと言われるように わたしは描く ノート / note: 「ルブランの残像」は、18世紀の女性画家ヴィジェ・ルブランの生涯から想起して作りました。 This song was inspired by the life of Vigée Le Brun, an eighteenth-century French female portrait painter. She is known for painting many portraits of Marie Antoinette, and at a time when women had very few opportunities to be publicly recognized as artists, she became a member of the Royal Academy of Painting and Sculpture in France. Vigée Le Brun portrayed the queen not only as a brilliant symbol of power, but also as a mother and as a woman. Eventually, the French Revolution broke out, and the world around her changed completely. Even after leaving France, however, she continued to paint portraits across Europe and further strengthened her reputation as an artist. Although she stood close to the splendor of the court, I feel that she found her true value not in belonging to that world, but in living as a painter. Even as times and places changed, that sense of purpose kept her painting.
