Bones of the Bodhi
(Let the lotus bloom in dharma’s dawn and shine upon this flow) [Verse] I starve flesh, I choke the air, Ribs like knives, they slice despair. Grain of rice, a jujube's sting, My body's a cage, broken thing. Teeth grind dust, tongue splits sky, Chasing the void where gods die. On thorns I lie, my blood’s the cost, A martyr of pain, forever lost. [Pre-Chorus] Skin shrinks tight, bones scream loud, A ghost in the mirror, a burial shroud. Fire’s my throne, Cold’s my crown, Drowning in silence, I’m burning down. [Chorus] Under the Bodhi, I’m torn apart, A skeleton saint with rotting heart. Claw the dark, bleeding to see, Truth in the shadow of the Bodhi tree. No heaven, no hell, just pain I weave, Dying to live, I can’t believe. [Verse] Breath locked tight, lungs collapse, Head splits wide in fevered lapse. Fires surround, Ash and bone, The sun’s my judge, night’s my throne. Rags on my back, the wind my blade, Each step a wound, each thought a spade. Carved to nothing, a husk, a shell, Pilgrim of torment, prophet of hell. [Bridge] Starved to the edge, a wraith in the dust, Body’s a ruin, spirit’s rust. But under the rose, memory wakes, A child in shade, where silence breaks. No whip, no chain, no fire’s decree, Truth’s in the quiet, setting me free. The Middle Way calls, a razor’s thin line, Not death, not desire, but spark divine. [Chorus] Under the Bodhi, I’m whole, alive, No longer a corpse where shadows thrive. Hunger’s a lie, pain’s a dream, Born in the light of the truth’s new gleam. No gods, no chains, just the path I see, Enlightened in silence by the Bodhi tree. [Outro] Bones of the Bodhi, they whisper my name, No torment, no torture, no guilt, no shame. The Middle Way shines, the end of the fight, Free in the dark, alive in the light.
