[Verse 1] You curl up slow on the sofa One paw tucked under your chin Little chest going up and down Like you just won’t let the day win Your ears flop flat in your sleep Face pressed right into the throw I watch you steal the whole room And you don’t even know [Pre-Chorus] You twitch at some dream-run Tail taps once, then still Soft as a fallen sweater Laid out on the sill [Chorus] My dog on the sofa My dog on the sofa You make this house feel softer My dog on the sofa [Verse 2] Sun hits your back in a stripe Dust dancing in the beam One eye opens for a second Then you sink right back in I move a cup on the table You don’t lift a single ear You got that perfect kind of peace That I wish I could keep here [Pre-Chorus] You twitch at some dream-run Tail taps once, then still Soft as a fallen sweater Laid out on the sill [Chorus] My dog on the sofa My dog on the sofa You make this house feel softer My dog on the sofa [Bridge] If the world gets loud outside You stay all curled and calm Heavy head on the cushion Safe inside my arm [Final Chorus] My dog on the sofa My dog on the sofa You make this house feel softer My dog on the sofa My dog on the sofa My dog on the sofa I’ll keep the door closed for ya My dog on the sofa
