[spoken-word poetry] I Am a Contradiction I carry the sunrise and the shadow of rain, A heart full of laughter, a pocket of pain, I wander through valleys, I reach for the sky, With questions like rivers that never run dry. [spoken-word poetry] I am a contradiction, a song yet unknown, A garden of wildflowers, roots made of stone, I’m fire in winter, I’m snow in July, A whisper of truth with a dream in my eye. [spoken-word poetry] I’ve stumbled on pathways that led me to gold, Found courage in stories my fears used to hold, The cracks in my armor let the light find a way, And every tomorrow grows brighter than yesterday. [spoken-word poetry] I am a contradiction, and that’s who I’ll be, A changing old forest, a wild open sea, I’m lost and I’m found in the same gentle breeze, A heart full of chances, a soul learning peace. [spoken-word poetry] So I’ll sing with the mountains, I’ll dance with the dawn, Embrace every piece of the road I’ve walked on, For all of my colors, the dark and the bright, Are the stars that have guided me into the light. I Am a Contradiction [spoken-word poetry] I am a contradiction, a road with two directions, A fire in the winter, a rain of bright reflections. I carry dreams like lanterns, yet I fear the morning light, I’m learning how to wander while I’m reaching for what’s right. [spoken-word poetry] I am a contradiction, a river running still, A heart that longs for freedom, a soul that loves the hill. I laugh when I am breaking, I sing when I am blue, I’ve spent my whole life searching, then found my way in you. [spoken-word poetry] I am the open window and the door I keep shut tight, The restless child at noon, the old soul late at night. I want to hold the whole world, yet I cherish just one hand, I stumble through uncertainty, but somehow always stand. [spoken-word poetry] I am a contradiction, and maybe that’s okay, For every crooked footstep still can find a brighter way. I’m both the storm and sunshine, both the question and reply, A patchwork made of moments underneath an endless sky. [spoken-word poetry] So let the road keep twisting, let the seasons change their tune, I’ll carry all my pieces underneath the silver moon. I don’t need to be one thing, I don’t need to understand, I am a contradiction, and I’m learning who I am.
