The cargo is secured, the course is plotted, and most of the crew is asleep. Only Darek remains awake, sitting alone in the cockpit during the night watch. As the stars drift past the viewport and the aging systems of the freighter hum quietly around him, his thoughts begin to wander. The Sector 9 has long become more than a simple transport ship. It survived the war, endured countless repairs, and completed more jumps than most vessels of its class ever will. Everywhere he looks, there are reminders of its history: patched hull plates, old weld seams, improvised modifications, and systems that should have been replaced years ago. Darek realizes that the ship and its crew have more in common than he ever noticed before. Both carry scars from the past, both have been held together by determination and countless repairs, and both continue moving forward despite everything they have endured. Those reflections eventually inspire Sector Nine — a song about loyalty, perseverance, and an aging freighter that should have been retired long ago, yet somehow continues its journey among the stars. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [Spoken Words] "Flight control, this is Freighter Sector Nine."
