[Verse 1] One sunny morning, I was working in the field When I heard a gentle voice that made my heart kneel God said, "Noah, I've got a special job for you" "Build a great big ark, and I'll help you see it through" [Pre-Chorus] I blinked my eyes and looked around No raindrops falling on the ground But when God speaks, I know it's true So I grabbed my tools and got to work to do [Chorus] Build that ark, board by board Trusting in the promise of the Lord Hammer high, hammer low Following wherever He says go Build that ark, don't be afraid Every single beam and plank was laid Step by step, day by day God will always make a way [Verse 2] The neighbors wondered what I was building out there "Why an ark?" they'd ask me with a puzzled stare I'd smile and say, "God has a perfect plan" And keep on working just as fast as these hands can [Pre-Chorus] The sun was bright, the sky was blue But God's word always sees us through So I measured twice and pounded nails Trusting Him beyond the hills and trails [Chorus] Build that ark, board by board Trusting in the promise of the Lord Hammer high, hammer low Following wherever He says go Build that ark, don't be afraid Every single beam and plank was laid Step by step, day by day God will always make a way [Bridge] Then two by two, the animals came Lions and lambs, each by name Elephants, zebras, birds in the sky I couldn't help but smile and wonder why But God knew things I could not see His loving plan was bigger than me So we climbed aboard and shut the door Safe inside through the mighty storm [Final Chorus] Build that ark, board by board Trusting in the promise of the Lord When He leads, I will go Even when I do not fully know Build that ark, strong and true God is faithful in all He'll do Step by step, day by day God will always make a way [Outro] Now when rainbows fill the sky I remember God's promise shining high And every color seems to say "I'll keep My promises always." 🌈
