[Verse] Down in Hohman, Indiana, snow is falling white, Young Ralphie dreams of a Christmas night. With a Red Ryder BB gun, oh, his heart's set, But everyone's telling him, boy, you'll regret. [Verse 2] His old man’s fighting a furnace, cussing in the hall, Mom’s bundling Randy, who's bundled to a crawl. The leg lamp shines through the window pane, A beacon of hope in the winter rain. [Chorus] Christmas dreamin', in the heart of a kid, With visions of a present, and all the things he did. Through trials and laughter, that holiday glow, A heartwarming story, in the Christmas snow. [Verse 3] At school, a theme, he pours his soul, Teacher’s warning rings like a bell’s toll. "You'll shoot your eye out, don't dream so wild," Ralphie's Christmas wish—the heart of a child. [Verse 4] The Santa at the mall, oh, what a fright, Ralphie's stammering words in the cold, dark night. Hoping and praying, his wish'll come true, Underneath the tree that holiday view. [Chorus] Christmas dreamin', in the heart of a kid, With visions of a present, and all the things he did. Through trials and laughter, that holiday glow, A heartwarming story, in the Christmas snow.
