[Verse 1] Hey, Finbar. You turn my head. That face of yours Could wake the dead. I reach up slow, My fingers shake. Your cheeks are warm Like fresh-baked bread. [Pre-Chorus] Too kind to be Standing here. Too bright to touch, Too near, too near. And still you grin, Like you know me. Like you’ve been Sent to hold me. [Chorus] Finbar, hey You feel so near Finbar, hey How did you get here? I smile at you And lose my ground Finbar, hey Don’t let me down (don’t let me down) [Verse 2] You’re some odd light In my dark place, A rescuer With a soft face. I press my palm To your cheekbone. Warm as summer On old stone. My whole chest aches With something sweet. Like I’ve been found Before we speak. [Pre-Chorus] Too kind to be Standing here. Too bright to touch, Too near, too near. And still you grin, Like you know me. Like you’ve been Sent to hold me. [Chorus] Finbar, hey You feel so near Finbar, hey How did you get here? I smile at you And lose my ground Finbar, hey Don’t let me down (don’t let me down) [Bridge] If this is a dream, Let it stay. Let your face be My saving grace. I’ll keep this heat Right in my chest, Your tender kind Of almost-myth. [Final Chorus] Finbar, hey You feel so near Finbar, hey How did you get here? I smile at you And lose my ground Finbar, hey Don’t let me down (don’t let me down)
