Sa Kahayag sa Pasko (In the Light of Christmas)

English In the light of the lantern the night danced— the light flickered like a star awakening. On the road filled with brightness the people stepped-step along, carrying their hopes homeward toward the light of their houses. The first sound of the bell— ting-ting, dong-dong— softened the heart as the Dawn Mass began. At daybreak, the village awoke; whirr-whirr went the wind at the corner, shaking the candles in front of the church. The family gathered at a table full of warmth; clink-clink went the spoons and forks, playing along with the aroma of lechon and broth. The night was filled with laughter— ha-ha-ha holding the moment; at Christmas Eve, love overflowed with bread, ham, and queso de bola. A small gift for the child softly-softly touched by their hand; their eyes sparkled like a light passing across the window. In the city shining with lanterns the fireworks burst-burst in the sky; the people sang in one voice inviting peace. And on the road where everyone met, joy and sharing walked together— and in the light of Christmas every heart came together.
