We are looking forward to your participation, meow~! — Tenten, Leader of the Cat Army 😸👍 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lyrics: ソレ！ ハチマキ tied, but my ears poke through, (so cute!) 浴衣 sleeves and a paw half-shoe. Lanterns swinging over the lane, First firework, and I jump again. Every cat in town comes running along. Grandma calls from the second floor, “Don’t climb the roof!” I’m already four roofs more. うちわ left, うちわ right, Whiskers twitch in the lantern light. Lift that 神輿, mind my tail Someone at the back has stepped on it again! Carry us HIGH! Paws in the air and our tails to the SKY! We’ve waited all year, so we’re carrying on. Round and round till the night gets blurry. Under the MOON! If morning is coming, it’s coming too soon! One paw, two paws Everybody, ホイ！ タマ is dancing on top of the float, ミカン is singing the wrong festival note. (so wrong!) クロ looks serious, dressed in blue, Till the 太鼓 hits and his back legs move. An owl on the eaves keeps watching the show, Like the neighborhood chairman from long ago. The crows fly off when the fireworks crack We pretend we’re brave, then we all jump back. うちわ left, うちわ right, Big full moon on a summer night. Lift that 神輿, steady now The big cat’s sitting on the front somehow! Carry us HIGH! Paws in the air and our tails to the SKY! We’ve waited all year, so we’re carrying on. Round and round till the night gets blurry. Under the MOON! If morning is coming, it’s coming too soon! Who pushed me in the festival bath? (Not タマ!) Who splashed water all over my sash? (Not ミカン!) Who’s in the tub with a towel on his head? (That’s クロ!) クロ, you said you were going to bed! (hey!) (hey!) Paw on the rim—don’t slip like that! フリフリ tail, クルクル turn, Too close to the lantern HOT! HOT! HOT! When the fireworks fade for a moment, We hear the sandals down below. The same old street, the same old houses, Looking different in the glow. Then one small kitten starts the calling, Not quite loud and not on time. We all answer from the rooftops And suddenly the night is mine. Carry us HIGH! Fireworks blooming all over the SKY! From every balcony, everybody joins! Even the owl looks slightly less worried. Under the MOON! If morning is coming, it’s coming too soon! One final round Humans live here, but this is our TOWN! The sun comes up. The lanterns go out. We act like none of this happened. … ---------------------------------------------------------------- © BEAT 2026
