Fear the Lord V.02 - By The War Scroll

Verse 1: In service to the Lord, my son, prepare, For trials will come, a load hard to bear. Set your heart aright, endure with might, In moments of trouble, make patience your light. Chorus: Fear the Lord, oh, fear the Lord, Cleave unto Him, your shield and your sword. When the fires of life around you swirl, Fear the Lord, my child, and trust in His world. Verse 2: As gold is refined in the furnace's glow, So are we tested in adversity's throw. Believe in Him, order your ways, In the Lord's embrace, find hope that stays. Chorus: Fear the Lord, oh, fear the Lord, Cleave unto Him, your shield and your sword. When the fires of life around you swirl, Fear the Lord, my child, and trust in His world. Bridge: Generations of old, wisdom unfold, Who trusted the Lord, left untold. Compassion and mercy, His enduring grace, In times of affliction, find a resting place. Verse 3: Woe to fearful hearts, to faint hands that stray, The sinner divided, lost in his own way. Hold fast to patience, even when it's strained, For when the Lord visits, what will be gained? Chorus: Fear the Lord, oh, fear the Lord, Cleave unto Him, your shield and your sword. When the fires of life around you swirl, Fear the Lord, my child, and trust in His world. Verse 4: They that fear the Lord, in His Word abide, Loving Him wholly, in His ways they confide. Prepare your hearts, in His sight be humble, Fall into His hands, where mercy does rumble. Chorus: Fear the Lord, oh, fear the Lord, Cleave unto Him, your shield and your sword. When the fires of life around you swirl, Fear the Lord, my child, and trust in His world. Outro: As His majesty is, so is His mercy, In awe of the Lord, find your safety. Fear the Lord, oh, fear the Lord, In His embrace, find your reward.
