[Title: I CAME TO HEAR] [Verse 1] He opened up the Book and told us what it meant. He knew where everybody stood and where the wicked went. He knew the times. He knew the signs. He knew which men were wrong. He'd studied every argument and answered every one. “I know.” Far away, a woman heard that wisdom could be found. She didn't send her own opinion. She got up and left the ground. He said— “I KNOW.” She said— “I HEARD.” He stayed where he was certain. She crossed the earth to learn. [Hook] HE SAID, “I KNOW.” SHE SAID, “I CAME TO HEAR.” He had all his answers. She traveled because wisdom was worth drawing near. HE SAID, “I KNOW.” SHE SAID, “I CAME TO HEAR.” And behold— A GREATER THAN SOLOMON IS HERE. [Verse 2] He knew the law. He knew the words. He knew the proper crowd. “Have any of the rulers or of the Pharisees believed on him?” He looked upon the common man— “This people knoweth not the law.” He knew who couldn't possibly know. He knew who couldn't see. Meanwhile— the Queen had packed her caravan because somebody knew more than she. She brought her questions. She brought her gifts. She brought no claim to Solomon's chair. She came from the uttermost parts of the earth— TO HEAR. [Hook] HE SAID, “I KNOW.” SHE SAID, “I CAME TO HEAR.” He measured truth by who believed it. She followed wisdom when she heard that it was there. HE SAID, “I KNOW.” SHE SAID, “I CAME TO HEAR.” And behold— A GREATER THAN SOLOMON IS HERE. [Verse 3] Then Greater came. No caravan required. No journey to the uttermost parts. Wisdom stood in their streets. Wisdom taught in their synagogues. Wisdom opened the eyes of the blind. Wisdom made the lame walk. Wisdom called the dead man forth. And still— “I know.” “We know.” “We have Moses.” “We see.” “We understand.” Then the man born blind said something they couldn't stand— “Whereas I was blind, now I see.” They answered him— “Dost thou teach us?” And cast him out. [Silence] The Queen kept listening. [Bridge] That's the difference. Not man against woman. Not ignorant against educated. Not Queen against preacher. It's the heart that thinks it has arrived against the heart that can still hear. “If any man think that he knoweth any thing, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know.” NOTHING YET. He said, “I already know.” She said, “I came to hear.” One stayed inside his certainty. One crossed the earth for wisdom. And Jesus remembered her. [Breakdown] “The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it...” Why her, Lord? “FOR SHE CAME.” She came. “To hear.” She heard. “The wisdom of Solomon.” She sought it. Then comes the blade— “AND, BEHOLD, A GREATER THAN SOLOMON IS HERE.” She crossed the earth for the lesser. They wouldn't cross their certainty for the Greater. [Final Hook] HE SAID, “I KNOW.” SHE SAID, “I CAME TO HEAR.” He brought his conclusions. She brought an open ear. HE SAID, “I KNOW.” SHE SAID, “I CAME TO HEAR.” Then Wisdom Himself stood among them— A GREATER THAN SOLOMON WAS HERE. So when the Queen rises in judgment, maybe you finally understand why she's there. Her journey becomes the question. Her seeking becomes the mirror. She doesn't have to call you anything. She only has to say— “I heard there was wisdom... SO I CAME TO HEAR.” [Outro] Professing themselves to be wise... they became fools. But we won't call you that. We'll ask something better. Can you still be taught? Can you still be corrected? Can you still leave what you know when the Word shows you more? Can you still hear? Because behold— A GREATER THAN SOLOMON IS HERE. Jesus is the Lord.
