“O Joseph, son of David, fear not to take Mary as thy wife…” The night was still in Nazareth, The air was warm and clear, And in his rest, a holy breath Spoke softly in his ear. “Be not afraid, O faithful one, For Heaven’s will is near— The child she bears is God’s own Son, The Savior shall appear.” Gloria, gloria, The angel’s voice unseen, Faith shall stand where doubt would fall, And love shall reign between. He woke beneath the lantern’s glow, The dream still warm and bright, And whispered, “Lord, Thy will I know,” Beneath the fading light. He rose and wrapped his cloak about, The stars began to climb— And through that night of silent doubt, He found a purpose divine. Gloria, gloria, The dreamer heard the call, And by his faith the promise stood, And mercy saved us all. Then softly to her side he came, As dawn began to rise— And love shone through the trembling flame That mirrored in her eyes. He took her hand and gently swore, “By Heaven’s light I’ll stand— To guard the Child whom angels bore, The Savior of the land.” They’ll call Him son of Joseph’s line, The carpenter’s young boy, Yet through His hands God’s heart shall shine, And sorrow turn to joy. For though this child I raise as mine, He bears a greater plan— The son the world believes is mine Shall be the Son of Man. Sleep, O hearts that fear the night, For God still speaks in dreams— Through faithful souls and quiet light, The dawn of mercy gleams. Gloria… gloria…
