Too Far in My Arms (Starlight cover)
you are the one hunger I can’t silence the constant longing inside of me I tried to hold it back I tried to breathe through it and be free I told myself this will pass I told myself to push it through but everything I breathe starts to feel like you my hands feel empty in a way I can’t explain my chest feels full in a way I can’t contain something in between won’t stay still pulling me toward you against my will too close in my mind I can’t leave you behind too far in my arms beyond all reason & charms I don’t know how to live with all this love I have to give too close in my mind too far in my arms it sits inside my chest like heat a warmth that just won’t leave it spreads into every breath I take until I can’t even breathe without reaching out to you without wanting you to stay like I’ve already lost the right to keep myself at bay my hands feel empty in a way I can’t explain my chest feels full in a way I can’t contain something in between won’t stay still pulling me toward you against my will too close in my mind I can’t leave you behind too far in my arms beyond all reason & charms I don’t know how to live with all this love I have to give too close in my mind too far in my arms this is the kind of need that doesn’t wait its turn that doesn’t grant mercy it just rises up to burn it takes over everything brings me to the edge of you and I don’t want to stop I don’t want to move I crave you in a way I can’t hide can’t soften, can’t keep locked inside I can’t turn this into poetry and pretend that it’s dignified so I’ll be here in the space we call ours holding everything I feel for you none of it is fading none of it is through too close in my mind I can’t leave you behind too far in my arms beyond all reason & charms I don’t know how to live with all this love I have to give too close in my mind too far in my arms don’t stay distant, come near I’ll be waiting right here what’s between us is ours and it’s yours
