Time was when you could voice an opinion without fear of retribution Folks could disagree about wet or dry rub barbecue ribs without hiring a lawyer Putting beans in Chili was open for debate. Hate it or love it we all watched All in the Family, cause It was funny. It made you laugh, and made some folks think. Laughter ain’t got no politics, well It didn’t use to. Politics didn't use to be funny Elected officials represented the people Now they are a joke At least that's my opinion Even if it sounds a bit woke Pretty much folks don’t want to voice an opinion Unless it’s on a poll conducted by their party of choice. What’s happened to all the fellowship and decency? Honest opinions once were welcome. Not anymore. When did truth become a dirty word? Lies aren't opinions. They are lies. Falsehoods meant to misdirect and deceive. The news isn’t what’s fake It’s the liars making news who are the fakes. But that's just my opinion.
