I’m Still Here

“I’m Still Here” (Surviving depression, self-harm thoughts, and quiet battles) Hook (sung): I’m still here, even when I didn’t wanna be, Breath in my lungs like a quiet melody. Devil had plans, but You had more, Met me on the edge, pulled me from that floor. I ain’t perfect, but I’m proof You’re near— If I’m breathin’ right now, it’s ’cause You kept me here. Verse 1 (rap): Couple nights I ain’t tell nobody what I thought, Scrollin’ through my options like, “This life cost.” Smile in the daytime, jokes on deck, But my pillow know the truth ’bout my neck. I was tired of the fake, tired of the grind, Tired of bein’ strong in everybody’s mind. Whisper in my chest said, “End it, bro,” But a louder one said, “Child, don’t let go.” Pre-Chorus (sung): So I cried out with nothin’ but a sigh, Didn’t even say “Jesus,” just let my soul cry. Hook Verse 2 (rap): I woke up with a text I ain’t expect, “Yo, you good?” from a dude I just met. Then a sermon popped up talkin’ ’bout my fight, Pastor said, “If you’re hearin’ this, God spared your life.” I ain’t say it fixed every thought overnight, But it lit a lil’ candle in my darkest night. Now every time I feel myself fallin’ back there, I remember I’m an answer to somebody’s prayer. Bridge (sung): If you’re listenin’ to this with tears in your eyes, Feelin’ like nobody would miss your life, Hear me: you’re loved more than you know, Don’t believe every voice, some just gotta go. Hook (big, ad-libs)
