My final destination is a grassy sunny spot, Beside my dear beloved in a tiny little plot. My name, it is engraved there, and one day some dirt they’ll toss, As to dust, I’ll be returning ‘neath, the shadow of a cross, But until that day arrives, may my life be one well lived. Lord, please fill my every moment with the strength only You give, And wrap me in Your grace and mercy from above, Overflow my soul with kindness that I may share Your precious love. Until the day I’m face-to-face with death, Lord, I give You every breath. May I capture every second, may I live to shine Your light. Make my heart forever humble to make choices that are right, Open my eyes to see the broken, open my heart to feel their pain, Help me to share Your peace and comfort through the fire, storms and rain. May I count my every blessing, May I thank You for Your care, May my eyes be ever upward as I look to You in prayer, May I hold the hands of others, may I walk with them a while, May I choose Your joy each day that I may greet them with a smile. Until the day I’m face-to-face with death, Lord, I give You every breath. Fill my mind with thoughts of Heaven, all the peace I know awaits, Please remind me in the hard times, of the joy beyond those gates, Yet help me Lord to trust and to obey, Give me faith to live today. Help me surrender all my wishes, help me give You every dream, May I keep my eyes on Jesus, no matter how things look or seem, When I’m faced with many choices, let me know which one’s from You, So that I choose Your best for me in all I say and all I do, And while I am here asking, please give me wisdom too, Make my heart forever true, Lord, all my hope’s in You. Until the day I’m face-to-face with death, Lord, I give You every breath.
