VERSE 1 The big red kangaroo Was bouncing down the track Stopped beside the neighbour's path And pinned its ears right back Off in the distance Came a mighty roar Down the road came rumbling The biker from next door CHORUS Oh, the big red roo What are you gonna do? Which way will you jump? Which way will you run? When the world comes roaring And you don't know what to do You just stand your ground Like a big red roo VERSE 2 The big red roo straightened up And held its head up high Ears twitching left and right As the bike went roaring by It watched the dust roll down the road And listened to the sound Then gave a mighty thump of its tail And stamped its foot on the ground CHORUS Oh, the big red roo What are you gonna do? Which way will you jump? Which way will you run? When the world comes roaring And you don't know what to do You just stand your ground Like a big red roo VERSE 3 Which way will it go? Which way will it turn? Decisions in the moment Make its big brain burn Left foot, right foot Eyes upon the track One more twitch of those big ears And then it starts to back VERSE 4 Thump goes its huge tail As it watches all the noise Then out from the undergrowth Come the younger little boys They bound and jump and scratch and stop Investigating weeds For the grass is always greener Where they planted older seeds BRIDGE There's always something moving Just beyond the fence Sometimes you don't need to hurry Sometimes waiting makes more sense Let the big things roar on by Let the little ones explore There's always another road to cross And something worth looking for FINAL CHORUS Oh, the big red roo What are you gonna do? Which way will you jump? Which way will you run? When the world comes roaring And you don't know what to do Just stand your ground Like a big red roo OUTRO So thump goes that big tail As the youngsters wander through And the biker fades away Down the old dirt track from view The big red roo looks left and right Then carries on his way 'Cause there's always greener grass Somewhere else another day.
