Pirates vs. Ninjas Acoustic Narrative 5b

V6

[Verse 1] "Get the Captain!" came the cry across The Shark's dark deck A pirate stumbled to the door, a trembling nervous wreck A single candle lit the room, a figure at the glass [Pre-Chorus 1] "It's a Ninja ship," the Captain said, "and death is coming fast. Light every lantern on this ship, don't leave them any shade." [Chorus 1] Black sails on the horizon, the Rino flag flies high Thirty souls will face their fate beneath the starlit sky But when the smoke has settled and the blood has stained the sea Who will stand among the fallen? Who will claim the victory? [Verse 2] The crew lit every lantern bright to banish shadow's reign The Shark swung hard to port and let the cannons give their report Shrapnel, fire, and iron tore the ninja ship apart [Pre-Chorus 2] But twenty shadows hit the waves before she went below And ran across the water — on the waves they seemed to flow [Chorus 2] "That can't be," a pirate screamed, "they're running on the tide" Muskets cracked and pistols flashed but fear shoots wide "They dodge your aim," the Captain warned, "shift left or right instead For if you let them close the gap, you'll lose your very head" [Verse 3] The Ninjas ran upon the water like phantoms in the night Four leapt aboard The Shark's deck, prepared for mortal fight Two fell to hunters' steady aim, but two began their dance [Pre-Chorus 3] Thirty pirates rushed at once — they'd heard the stories told Of crews picked off one by one by ninjas, swift and cold [Bridge] Fear and fury, flash of blade, desperate men gave their all One ninja fell beside his kills, the other refused to fall Steel sang its deadly chorus as the battle raged so wild Till one lone Ninja warrior stood among the bodies piled [Verse 4] One ninja left, and thirty dead, and silence on the ship He heard a breath, and turned, his blade already in his grip A movement slight, behind the wall, a stifled gasp [Pre-Chorus 4] A frightened girl in tattered dress cowered on the floor Barely more than just a kid, behind a cabin door [Verse 5] He sheathed his blade and reached for her, she flinched against the wall Then took his hand — came up so light, like she had no weight at all But close she came, too close she came, their eyes did briefly meet [Pre-Chorus 5] A stiletto found its target underneath his masked chin The "helpless" girl stepped over him with a wicked grin [Final Chorus] Captain Nicky stands alone upon the crimson deck "Damn ninjas," she said, "third time this year — what a wreck." The Shark needs a new crew now, dead men can't sail the sea The most ruthless of pirates — she just turned seventeen [Outro] So raise a glass to Captain Nicky, terror of the main Deadliest of the crew — she'll do it all again The Rino Ninjas learned too late what pirates always knew Never trust appearances — they'll be the death of you
