Last Train Before Midnight

[INTRO] [Soft rolling drums, distant atmosphere, warm kalimba melody] [VERSE 1] Last train before midnight Someone's got a speaker in the back of the carriage Window's covered in rain Everything outside turns into streaks of orange and white Three stops till we get there Nobody's saying much Just nodding to the beat Watching the city wake up for the night [PRE-CHORUS] You could feel it coming Long before the first tune dropped That little buzz in your chest Like anything could happen [DROP] [Deep sub bass, rolling jungle breaks, kalimba hook enters] [CHORUS] We weren't chasing memories then We were too busy making them Train doors open Cold air hits And suddenly the night's alive We weren't trying to hold on We thought it'd always be there Funny how the things you miss Never felt important at the time [VERSE 2] Queue round the corner Laughter bouncing off the walls Someone's already lost their mates Someone's already found a story they'll tell for years No cameras out No proving anything Just living it And letting the night take shape on its own [PRE-CHORUS] You could feel it coming Long before the first tune dropped That little buzz in your chest Like anything could happen [CHORUS] We weren't chasing memories then We were too busy making them Train doors open Cold air hits And suddenly the night's alive We weren't trying to hold on We thought it'd always be there Funny how the things you miss Never felt important at the time [FINAL HOOK] Last train before midnight Rain on the glass City lights passing by And all of us heading somewhere we couldn't wait to be [OUTRO] [Kalimba and rolling breaks gradually fade]
