Free Sample (Hooks for Life) [SSC8 Sample Challenge]
[Intro] [Soft tape hiss, distant mall ambience, reversed synth swell] Free sample, all you can take Grab a pack, see what to make [Verse] [Vocal: Whispered, distant, drenched in reverb] Tiny bits, a kick, a snare Mix it in, gone everywhere Short and sweet, it fades too fast Now I’m chasing what won’t last [Hook] [Loop, layered vocals, slightly detuned] Free sample, all you can take Grab a pack, see what to make [Break] [Instrumental, warped synths, slowed-down vocal chop] Hooks so rife... (echo) Hooked for life... (echo) [Hook] [Loop, layered vocals, slightly detuned] Free sample, all you can take Grab a pack, see what to make [Outro] [Fade into tape warble, vinyl crackle] Your were only passing by... Now you hear it all the time -------------- Free Sample (Hooks for Life) [SSC8 Sample Challenge] Copyright © 2026 JAG. I used only the 0:32-0:45 section (Organ+Flute), which is very clear at my 1:56. The chords and melodic phrases are also referenced further, 0:19 has the sample reimagined with a dulcimer/vibraphone sound which will then be the main melodic instrument. The lyrics above are my own, simply stating how sampling can get you hooked (or hooks?). Musically, the context is kind of Chillwave, intentionally lo-fi and relaxed. I used the "Sample" feature to get a few versions, then Suno Studio to actually sample, mix and EQ the final track from that. The original style prompt was: [Chillwave, Lo-Fi, Dreamy, Washed-Out Synths, Analog Warmth, Tape Saturation, Reverb Heavy, Soft Pads, Vintage Drum Machine, Slow Groove 85 BPM, Nostalgic, Hazy Atmosphere, Subtle Bassline, Airy Textures, Distant Male/Female Vocals, Minimal Structure, Loop-Based, Hypnotic, Late Night Mood] Let me know if you like it! --------------
