Every song on it is for one person or one character I was somehow accompanied by. Every single one of them has what it takes to be either an idol, a hero or a crush. Or all three at once. This is song 3 of the playlist. As I am a bit older, I suppose there'll be a few more to come... Song for Elizabeth Just ink on paper, Glowing on a midnight screen. You’re two hundred years away... And still the best thing I’ve ever seen. Walking through the morning field, Mud heavy on your dress. Fine shoes ruined in the grass, And you couldn't care less. They weigh your worth in silver, In quiet, gilded rooms. You just smile and hold your ground, And completely clear the room. And I know I’m just a guy sitting in the dark, Watching you tear their fragile world apart. Honestly, it’s hard not to fall a little bit, For the only person who doesn't give a shit. Oh, you make their pride look so foolish, Turn their rigid world upside down! You laugh off all their self-importance, Best sharp mind in this town. Quick with a comeback, steady and bright, Yeah, you got me completely hooked tonight. Reading underneath the trees, Windy cliffs above the sea. A sharp gaze, a quiet grace, Wild and completely free. No time for polite little games, Or high horses in the hall. One swift word from your lips, And you watch the arrogant fall. And I’m just watching from three centuries away, Wishing people moved like you do today. Call it a crush, call it what you like, You’re the smartest girl under the light. Oh, you make their pride look so foolish, Left that whole stiff world behind! Now the tallest man is searching, Hoping you are hard to find. Quick with a comeback, steady and bright, You turned their parlor inside out tonight. Let the proud ones hate you for it! You won't dance to rules they made. Drinking tea and furious now, 'Cause you're simply not afraid. Quick with a comeback, steady and bright, You won my heart without a fight! Standing in the grass... Unbothered in the rain. My favourite kind of girl. Knowing who you are. ©2026 FL.AIR | All Rights Reserved Crafted with love, passion, a touch of soul, a weird sense of Humor and so much more. Some thoughts if you like: There are stories that come to life through their characters. For me, it’s Elizabeth Bennet who not only brings *Pride and Prejudice* to life. She is the story. For me this character makes the story worth reading (or watching) it. That’s why she absolutely deserves her place in my ‘Idols, Heroes, Crushes’ playlist. When you look closely at Elizabeth Bennet, you realize she is far too complex to be captured by simple labels or clichés. She moves through the world with a light step, but carries a remarkably sharp, heavy mind. She doesn’t scream her defiance; she simply lives it—with dignity, quiet strength, and a subtle humor that sees right through the masks and pride of the people around her. This song isn't an overt retelling of her story, nor is it a literal adaptation. It is an honest, unpretentious homage to a captivating character—to her brilliant wit, her unbothered grace, and the beauty of observing someone who simply refuses to fit into any box the world has prepared for her.
