THE REVOLUTION IS DEAD (LONG LIVE THE REVOLUTION)
[INTRO — GENTLY SUNG, SPARSE PIANO AND LOW SYNTH] We are told the revolution is dead. "But what is the revolution that it can live or die? Is it the ships we fly? Or the guns we send our comrades of the baseline movements across New Eden? Is it the victories we seek? Or the pride in our accomplishments? Is it the thrill of the chase? Or the lamentations of our foes? No, I do not think it is any of these things. There! And There! You see the star-points gleaming; those are ships leaving the gravity well with a cargo of vishaal/kakeeda silk that the colonists of Indradhanush city sell at profit to the star cluster. They call this world the great tapestry and I consider it is well named because looking to this industry on the verge of the atmosphere I see the threads binding the civilization below to the aspirations of all humanity in the bright universe above. I think these people hear the same music of revolution I perceive and rush to embrace it in their own ways. [VERSE 1 — BRISK, DRIVING] They say the banners all fell silent, say the fever burned away. Count the wrecks and count the fallen, write their names and close the case. But it never lived in hulls alone, never only steel and fire. If it dies when fleets go dark, we mistook the gun for the desire. [PRE-CHORUS] It lives wherever living people look beyond the given line, where somebody sees a smaller world and answers: Not this time. [CHORUS] The revolution lives within our hearts, in the dreams that ask no permission. It dies each night, but in the dawn, with every breath it is reborn. Every hand that reaches outward, every mind that chooses more— the revolution dies at sunset and rises with the dawn. [VERSE 2] See the freighters taking orbit, red and gold against the night. Silk made here and sold from here, without some distant master's right. No paternal hand above them. No ancient flag defines their worth. Just people turning work to freedom, lifting possibility from earth. [PRE-CHORUS] Freedom isn't just a slogan. It isn't merely ships or guns. It happens when the ordinary becomes what power said could not be done. [CHORUS] The revolution lives within our hearts, in the dreams that ask no permission. It dies each night, but in the dawn, with every breath it is reborn. Every hand that reaches outward, every mind that chooses more— the revolution dies at sunset and rises with the dawn. [BRIDGE — PASSIONATE, TIGHT RHYTHMIC DELIVERY] I have known too many comrades. Venal. Domain. Lonetrek. Some we lost to fire. Some to violence. Some simply grew tired of believing tomorrow could be different from today. Some who simply could not carry all the ghosts their courage made. I have watched fierce hearts falter. Watched people who once spoke as though the stars themselves could be remade fall silent, turn away, and decide the old world was easier to endure than another year of fighting it. And I understood them. There have been nights when I have felt it too. When revolution seemed like another beautiful word we had shouted into an indifferent dark. [BAND BEGINS TO MOVE] Then something moves. A ship. A market. A lover. A factory. A dawn. Somebody, somewhere, does the thing they were told could not be done. And all the possibilities we thought were dying with us are stubbornly still alive. [BAND BUILDS HARDER] The capsule changed the terms. Replication changed the terms. Industry changed the terms. The stars changed the terms. So if we still kneel to ancient governments, inherited borders, pre-industrial ghosts— that is not destiny. That is memetic failure. And we have seen too much possibility to surrender the future to the exhausted imagination of the past. [BRIDGE II — SUNG, RISING] I do not mourn the death of old illusions. Let them die. Let them go. What matters is the spark between us, the will to build, the nerve to know that every dawn returns the question— what world now shall we begin? And every living soul that answers lets the revolution breathe again. [[FINAL CHORUS — DRIVING, NO TEMPO DROP BIGGEST] The revolution lives within our hearts, in the dreams that ask no permission. It dies each night, but in the dawn, with every breath it is reborn. Not in old flags. Not in dead rulers. Not in blood and soil. It lives in every human hand that reaches for the possible. The Revolution is dead. LONG LIVE THE REVOLUTION.
