The Ship of Dreams

it was on a bright April afternoon on april 10th 1912. Beneath the open sky, there she was. The ship of dreams. the ship of everyones Titanic stood waiting, majestic and high. A giant made of steel, with her decks shining white, She carried the dreams of the world in her sight. From Southampton she sailed, with her whistles so loud, (blow a whistle here) We boarded. The queen on the ocean, surrounded by crowds. The harbour grew smaller, the shoreline slipped by, As she headed for France beneath the blue sky. With families aboard and their stories to tell, Some travelled in comfort, some like us not so luxurious but modest, it was clean aswell We laughed and we dreamed of the journey ahead, Not knowing the fate that the future would spread. She crossed through the water, so graceful and proud, Her great funnels rising above every crowd. They called her unsinkable, a wonder of time, A ship built to conquer the ocean and shine. From Southampton to Cherbourg, then Queenstown she would go, As the cold Atlantic waited below. And out into darkness, beneath stars burning bright, The Titanic sailed onward through the April night. the ship of dreams and she was. Her first voyage began with such promise and pride, With the whole world watching as she sailed the tide. [🎻 🎻 🎻 🎻 violins to fade out]
