LAST WALL — CHAPTER III: THE SIGNAL

V5.5

[Intro — Atmospheric / Whispered] Day 7. Twelve survivors. No home. No army. No way back. For seven days, we followed the signal north. And every night... The dead watched us from the trees. They never attacked. They just followed. Waiting. [Verse 1 — Slow, Crushing Riff] The mountains rise like broken teeth Black clouds hanging underneath Snow falls over fields of gray Covering the bones of yesterday We march through forests without a sound Dead radio buried underground Every few miles, another sign Symbols carved into the pine Three circles. A line through the center. The same symbol marked On every corpse we found. [Pre-Chorus — Building] Then the radio screams— "STOP." We freeze. The forest breathes. A hundred dead faces Appear between the trees. But none of them move. [Chorus] FOLLOW THE SIGNAL! Into the frozen night! Something is calling From beyond the dying light! FOLLOW THE SIGNAL! Even if it leads to hell! We've lost our homes! We've lost our friends! But we refuse to lose ourselves! [Verse 2 — Fast] We reach the mountain just before dawn Find an old military tunnel carved in stone Steel doors covered in rust Warning signs buried underneath the dust "BIOHAZARD." "AUTHORIZED PERSONNEL ONLY." "PROJECT ECHO." My hand touches the door. It opens. By itself. Inside the tunnel The lights begin to glow. One by one. Like something knows That we're here. [Breakdown — Low / Mechanical] STEP. STEP. STEP. Something walks in the dark. We raise our weapons. Our breathing stops. Then a voice speaks through the speakers: "Subject group identified." "Twelve survivors confirmed." "Begin Phase Two." [Verse 3] We run deeper beneath the mountain Past empty cells and blood-stained rooms Photographs cover every wall Faces of people who vanished in June Some are soldiers. Some are doctors. Some are children. And beneath every photograph— The same symbol. Our survivor stops dead. She knows it. She tears the picture from the wall. Her face turns white. "I was here." [Bridge — Clean Vocals] She remembers. Before the outbreak. Before the cities fell. There was a laboratory. There was an experiment. There was a cure. But the cure failed. And when they tried to destroy it... They created something worse. [Pre-Chorus — Rising] The infected weren't accidents. They were the experiment. The mutations weren't random. They were designed. And the creatures outside... Were only the beginning. [Chorus — Full Band] FOLLOW THE SIGNAL! Nowhere left to hide! The truth is buried Where the living go to die! FOLLOW THE SIGNAL! Let the whole world hear! If they're creating monsters— THEN WE'LL BECOME THEIR FEAR! [Instrumental — Guitar Solo] [Rapid drums.] [Dueling guitars]. [Distant choir.] [Machine-like screams]. [Verse 4 — Aggressive] The doors slam shut behind us Red lights flood the hall Something wakes beneath the mountain And we hear the concrete walls CRACK. The floor begins to shake. CRACK. The ceiling starts to break. Then comes a sound We've never heard before— A voice. Not human. Not dead. Something between the two. It whispers our names. All twelve. [Breakdown — Screamed] YOU CAME LOOKING FOR THE TRUTH! NOW LOOK IT IN THE EYES! YOU CAME SEARCHING FOR A CURE! NOW WATCH YOUR WORLD COLLIDE! NO GOD! NO HOPE! NO WAY OUT! THE SIGNAL WAS NEVER A WARNING! IT WAS A FUCKING LURE! [Final Chorus — Epic] WE FOLLOWED THE SIGNAL! Straight into the grave! But if the darkness wants our souls— IT'S GONNA HAVE TO TAKE THEM! WE ARE THE LAST ONES! The final ones alive! If this is where humanity ends— THEN HUMANITY WILL FIGHT! Raise your weapons! Light the flame! Remember every fallen name! Let the monsters come! Let the mountains shake! WE WILL NOT BOW! WE WILL NOT BREAK! [Outro — Quiet / Distorted Radio] The doors open. Something enormous steps into the light. The survivors raise their weapons. Then the creature speaks. Not through the speakers. Not through the radio. Directly into our minds. "You think you're survivors." A pause. "You're the next stage." The lights go out. [Silence.] Then— One heartbeat. Two. Three. And somewhere in the darkness... Twelve more hearts begin to beat.
