You open the booklet and the symbols look strange, Like a language from Mars that you can't rearrange. But don't let the X and the Y make you freeze, Algebra is just a game played with logical ease. Think of the equals sign like a balancing scale, Keep both sides even and you’re never gonna fail. If you move a "plus" over, it turns to a "minus," It’s a simple little swap, so don’t let it blind us. Whatever you do to the left, do to the right, And the "unknown" value will come into the light. Now let's hit Geometry, the shapes and the lines, The angles and the borders and the "area" designs. A Right-Angle Triangle? Don’t get in a mess, Pythagoras is here to relieve all the stress. Square the two short sides—A-squared plus B-squared, And you’ve got the long side, C-squared, prepared. And if you need the Area of a circle in a race, It’s Pi times R-squared to find the total space. Remember: Circumference is the "fence" around the park, Area is the "grass" where you play until dark. Then there’s the Data, the "Average" crew, The Mean, Median, and Mode—here’s what they do. The Mean is the "greedy" one, it wants the whole lot, Add 'em all up and divide what you’ve got. The Median is the "middleman," standing in the queue, Sort 'em by size and the centre one is true. The Mode is the "popular" one, the one you see most, Like a trending hashtag or a viral post. And the Range? That’s just the "gap" in the scores, The biggest minus smallest—now the answer is yours. But wait, here's the one that makes everyone sweat, The Probability of something that hasn't happened yet. It’s just a fraction: what you want over the total, Like the chance of a "heads" on a lucky coin flip, local. If it’s zero, it’s impossible, it’s never gonna be, If it’s one, it’s a certainty, as far as we see. And if you see a percentage—ten percent, twenty, more, It’s just a "fraction out of a hundred"—that’s the core. Maths isn't a monster, it’s just a set of gears, To help you build a world and face down your fears. It’s the code in your console, the brick in your wall, The logic that keeps you from having to fall. So grab your calculator, show every "working out" step, Because even a wrong answer can earn you some "rep." The examiner gives marks for the "journey," you see, Not just the final answer or the Q-E-D.
