Taking up Gideon’s broadsword, she strides past the slaughtered guardian at the gate and plunges into the pitch-black abyss of the citadel. Declaring herself the light, she unleashes the dormant entity within her chest into the blade, igniting an inferno of blinding white fire that instantly begins consuming her flesh, veins, and mind. As hordes of monstrous shadows surge forward and the Sirens weave suffocating webs of illusions, reality and fractured memories collide: the slaughtered body of her mother in the crimson snow, the brutal church indoctrination, and the weight of the Silent Bell. In the dark corners of the hall, Carrion twirls and laughs, applauding every drop of blood. Driven by desperate resolve to reach the captive child, Valeska surrenders completely to the beast in her chest, allowing it to devour every trace of who she was. As her history melts into static and the broken sanctuary flashes past, she slashes blindly through the dark until the halls fall dead silent. Stripped of all memories and selfhood, her blackened fingers find only the warm copper ring on her hand as a phantom anchor. She breaches the final archway into a colossal vault of obsidian glass and finds a gargantuan sphere woven from black glass threads. Deep within, a burned and scarred child awakens—yet Valeska stands in absolute, hollow bewilderment, knowing neither who the child is, what brought her here, nor who she ever was. -------------Lyrics-------------- [Intro] [A deep, weeping cello drone accompanied by low bowed double-bass] [Spoken-word, voice raw, exhausted, but carrying lethal resolution] "The ink is dry. I close the ledger a final time. I hide the leather deep beneath the stone... Let the mountain keep the witness of my sin. Past the broken corpse at the gate... into the throat of obsidian night. I fear no darkness. I am the light. You called me God-Eater... — Carrion... ...now watch what I truly am." [Verse 1] [A crushing, thunderous post-black and doom-metal wall erupts—driving melodic bass, sludgy down-tuned guitars, and gritty, soaring operatic female vocals] The blackness screams with jagged teeth, the frozen tunnels groan, I drive the burning light straight through this cage of frost and stone! White fire breaks across the steel, it boils through my veins, A blinding, tearing agony that shatters mortal chains! Two worlds collide in blood and wrath—my mother’s tortured cry, Kelemvor’s hounds upon the snow beneath an empty sky! Her throat torn open in the drift, the red across the frost— While here my broadsword splits the dark, whatever soul may be lost! [Spoken-harsh, cutting through the riffs] "I see through every lie you weave—you will not bar my way!" [Chorus 1] [Explosive melodic post-metal wall of sound—crushing heavy riffs, sweeping emotional chord progressions, and desperate, soaring operatic screams] MY MEMORIES ARE KINDLING, MY SOUL BECOMES THE BRAND! I STRIKE THROUGH TERROR’S ENDLESS TIDE, A GOD UPON MY HAND! LET THE CITADEL COLLAPSE, LET EVERY SHADOW BREAK, I’LL TEAR THE CHILD OUT OF THIS TRAP, WHATEVER IT MAY TAKE! FEED ON MY BLOOD UNTIL NO SPARK OR EMBER SHALL REMAIN— I’LL END THIS BATTLE IN A STORM OF BLINDING, SEARING FLAME! [Verse 2] [Heavy atmospheric sludge groove, driving melodic bassline, sweeping dark cellos, and intense, gritty female vocals] Each severed shadow feeds the beast that claws within my chest, The cloister walls, the iron whips, the doctrines drilled within! They broke the child to forge the blade, they hung the Silent Bell, To mold a holy slaughterer for a consecrated hell! And through the spray of boiling light, where shattered phantoms fall, Carrion dances in the dark, her laughter shakes the wall! A grinning shadow in the mist, applauding every tear, While white-hot static drowns my mind and incinerates my fear! [Bridge] [Massive cinematic climax, heavy dragging doom chords, soaring operatic vocal delivery, weeping cello harmonies, sweeping emotional peak] STILL YOUR HUNGER, MONSTER! TEAR THE CANVAS CLEAN! DEVOUR EVERY TRACE OF WHAT I’VE EVER FELT OR BEEN! I need no past! I need no grace! I need no human breath! Let your bitter lament through my hand strike down this world to death! [Verse 3] [Surging post-metal crescendo, massive wall of melodic distorted guitars, soaring weeping cellos, and raw desperate emotional vocals] The broken altars blur and rot, the screaming fades away, My fallen brothers on the stone dissolve into gray! I cannot feel my bleeding hands, I cannot feel the blade, The god within devours all the memories I made! The names are turning into ash, my mother’s voice is dead, A hollow shell of blinding light where mortal heart once bled! No thought remains, no past to mourn, no mercy left to give— Only the iron swinging blind so that the child may live! [Chorus 2] [A slow, majestic, heartbreaking orchestral-doom cadence—heavy dragging drums, mournful weeping cellos, and fragile, heartbroken clean-to-grit vocals] Nothing remains in the freezing decay, The ghosts and the shadows have melted away. Who was the woman who carried this sword? A nameless reflection, a broken chord. My charred, numb fingers close around the copper ring... ...a ghost among the dead... [Outro] [The heavy instruments dissolve into a cold, cavernous acoustic drone and a fragile, weeping solo cello] [Valeska's voice, vacant, hollow whisper, fading into vast obsidian silence] The final arch crumbles to dust... Dead, freezing silence. A vault of endless glass, where every light goes blind. And there... suspended in the obsidian void... A colossal sphere, woven from black glass threads. Inside... ...a burned child stirs. Lifting a scarred face in the dark. I touch the warm copper on my hand... ...yet no memory remains. I only know I had to reach this place. ...What am I doing here? [A trembling, bewildered whisper, stripped of all identity and memory] This child... I feel like I know her... am I here because of her? Say me.... "...Who are you?" [A single, weeping cello note slowly dissolves into absolute silence] [Fade out]
