A memory I never had

There's something familiar inside this feeling Someone else's memories collapsing into my psyche I remember these offices crowded The sound of the phones The smell of coffee over desks that now collect dust And for a moment... I know exactly where every room should be Now I remember things that never happened to me Faces I recognize from lives I never lived to see Memories keep forcing their way into my memory And it's getting harder to know what still belongs to me I should probably calm this anxiety These waves of paranoia keep bending me Vertigo is tightening around my throat Now I see that distant look in Lilhit's eyes But my body reacts far too slowly Like I've been trying to move forward for years And here it comes again... the whole fucking— AVALANCHE! Now I remember things that never happened to me Faces I recognize from lives I never lived to see Memories keep forcing their way into my memory And it's getting harder to know what still belongs to me I don't know why I can remember the fear inside their hands An alarm Then someone saying... "Don't let the two of them wake up." The two of them... Who are these people kneeling on the floor? Why are they all muttering to themselves? Where did their souls go? What happened to their— HUMANITY?! Now I remember things that never happened to me And somehow those memories have started remembering me Something keeps carving more room inside my memory And now I'm asking... how much of what I call mine ever belonged to me?
