Sanguis silentium frangit! Sigillum rumpitur! Nox surgit! Sanguis effunditur! Tenebrae excitantur! Dominus ex sepulcro oritur! The altar groaned, the tomb slid open, grinding with a patient breath. The torches faltered, pulses quickened, bent beneath the weight of death. It rose with grace, not bound by frenzy, not a beast but something pure. A frame of ivory and sinew, built for fear, a macabre allure. Its flesh was smooth, untouched by time, a sculpted mask of frozen white. Its ribs stretched outward, its bones displayed, a grotesque monument to fright. Its form designed to infuse terror, fangs brought to focus, all meant to petrify. It's gaze was malice, death incarnate—prey meant to quiver before they die. One fell forward, hands held praying. "We have freed you—bless our devotion!" The creature turned, unmoved, unyielding. "Silly thing, perish the notion." Its fingers rose—a careful motion. (a careful motion) A single step, a gurgled breath. (a gurgled breath) The cultist screeched as flesh uncoiled. (flesh uncoiled) Their skin peeled back, denied their death. Their bones stretched high, the walls accepted. Their screams were choked, but never ceased. Their jaw split wide in gruesome horror. A scarlet art—a masterpiece. The others ran, their robes were trailing, feet unsteady, breath held tight. A flick of the wrist, their bodies painted to the structure, a display of might. A crimson tapestry of bodies, a visceral mosaic, merged to the stone. No exit left, no god to save them—only this they’d called their own. Judith, hysterical, hands to her face. Michael, still bound, was locked in place. The Ivory Lord stalked, no need for speed. It would feed at its own pace. No need to chase, no need to tame. No need to rip, to tear, to maim. They knew the truth, it would succeed. It did not hunt—it simply claimed. The walls were slick with something living, blood still moving through the veins. The mouths of those now melded let out gurgled, muffled, sobbing strains. The vampire turned, its gaze now focused, studying what still remained. Judith whimpered, prey should know, what they are, before they're claimed.
