Title: Roxi-Band: Live: Give Me the Slider

V6

[PROLOGUE] [ROXI]: (Adult female spoken voice, mature smoky Nordic timbre; amused, very close to microphone.) Four hundred credits. Ten seconds. High quality. Fine. Then tell me something. What does five thousand buy? [INTRO] [JILL]: (Overdriven electric bass; thick syncopated two-bar riff.) [MILFRED]: (Dusty kick and snare enter beneath bass; loose boom-bap pocket.) [SEPHYR-GLEN]: (Acoustic piano; two dark low chords, then clipped clavinet answers.) [MALE GUEST 1]: (Adult male rapper; technical, abrasive, comic attack.) Five grand in the wallet, twelve clips on deck, hundred-twenty-five seconds if the math stays correct. But why Frankenstein frames when the engine can run? I don't want twelve appetizers—I ordered the ONE. Four hundred gets ten? Fine, hand me the scale. One minute, three minutes—show me retail. Ten if you dare, thirty if the servers survive, just put the damn estimate there before I arrive. Don't protect my credits like they're family gold. I bought the little bastards—let me lose control. Give me LOW, give me HIGH, give me ULTRA, INSANE, give me “THIS MAY GO WRONG”—then let me complain. [CROWD]: (Short gang shout.) GIVE HIM THE SLIDER! [MALE GUEST 1]: (Double-time burst.) I'm the customer begging you: charge me more! That's backwards economics kicking down the door. Eight-K sitting idle while I'm clicking through menus, trying to buy the future from a twenty-credit venue. [CHORUS] [ROXI]: (Smoky sung-shouted punk hook.) GIVE ME THE SLIDER! SHOW ME THE TIME! Show me the quality, show me the price! Twenty for still, four hundred for ten— if I want five thousand, LET ME CHOOSE WHEN! [CROWD]: THE CREDITS ARE MINE! [VERSE 2] [MALE GUEST 2]: (Adult male rapper; deep soulful baritone, measured cadence.) But listen beneath the joke, because the joke has a reason. Nobody asks for a longer film until ten seconds makes them believe in it. You gave somebody light moving across a face. A room breathing. A camera drifting. A song suddenly occupying space. Then the screen says: that's enough. That's where frustration starts. Not because ten seconds has no worth— because ten seconds proved there might be a world behind it. So give the artist the trade-off. One minute costs this. Three costs that. High resolution costs more. Continuity may crack. Tell us. We can take honesty. Creators understand risk when you treat them like adults. What we cannot choose is the thing we cannot explore. [LIZ]: (Harmonica; warm sustained bend beneath the final words.) [BREAK] [MILFRED]: (Drops to kick and floor tom.) [SEPHYR-GLEN]: (One low piano octave repeats slowly.) [ROXI]: (Spoken, delighted.) Exactly. I don't need a miracle. I need a dangerous button. Something big and red. THIS WILL COST AN UNREASONABLE NUMBER OF CREDITS. Good. I have an unreasonable number of credits. We belong together. [VERSE 3] [MALE GUEST 1]: (Returns with rapid punchline-heavy rap.) Give me ten sec, thirty, sixty, custom, estimated credits: financially disgusting. Press confirm—server asks, Are you sure? YES, I'M THE IDIOT YOU BUILT THIS FOR. Music from language was already obscene, voices from nothing through a glowing machine. You taught us impossible, now don't get shy, don't build the damn airplane then ration the sky. [MILFRED]: (Snare becomes harder; groove shifts toward punk.) [JILL]: (Bass riff widens into octave jumps.) [MALE GUEST 2]: (Firm, soulful.) And if five thousand buys two minutes, say so. If it buys less because quality is higher, say so. If long generations lose consistency, say so. Just give us the choice. Because this complaint isn't contempt. It's demand created by possibility. The short version worked well enough to make us want the whole thing. [FINAL CHORUS] [ROXI]: (Full-throated melodic punk shout.) GIVE ME THE SLIDER! ONE MINUTE! THREE! TEN IF YOU CAN! Give me the warning, the price, and the plan! Four hundred buys ten? GOOD—we understand! Now tell me what FIVE THOUSAND puts in my hand! [CROWD]: (Huge gang response.) LET! IT! RUN! [ROXI]: Don't save me from spending! Don't bury the choice! Give creators the controls when they already found a voice! [MALE GUEST 1]: Give me MORE! [MALE GUEST 2]: Give me CLARITY. [ROXI]: Give me the button that says: I KNOW THIS MAY BE STUPID— [CROWD]: DO IT ANYWAY! [OUTRO] [SEPHYR-GLEN]: (Band drops away; one bright piano chord.) [ROXI]: (Quietly, amused.) Five thousand credits. Are you sure? Yes. Now make the damn thing move. [JILL]: (One deep bass note.) [END]
