Jerusalem Exodus (Tongues Like Fire)

+ Show full styles

[Spoken Intro – passionate black preacher, sermon climax] “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come on you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” [Guitar Intro – wailing, bluesy, explosive lead] [Verse 1 – slow groove, let vocals breathe] The sky was still, the room was tight, He rose in glory, out of sight. Their hearts still burned with what He’d said— The grave was crushed though He had bled. So they waited in that upper place, Every breath was laced with grace. Prayin’ low, eyes to the sky— Not knowing when, but knowing why. [Verse 2 – steady rhythm, building tension] Then like a wind—rushing loud, Like thunder rolling through a cloud, The Spirit fell, a holy flame, And every soul was called by name. Tongues like fire danced in the air, Heaven’s roar was everywhere. They spoke in words they’d never known— But truth was burnin’ through their bones. [Chorus – big lift, full band, soulful vocals] Tongues of fire, Spirit poured, Heaven cracked and power roared. From trembling lips to thunderous sound, The Word of God went world-bound. He lit the match, He tore the veil— Now nothing forged in hell prevails. Born in fire, born to run— The church rose up with the rising Son. [Verse 3 – pull back, firm conviction] And Peter stood with Spirit eyes, No longer bound by fear or lies. “This Jesus, Lord, you crucified— But death could never hold His life.” The crowd was cut, the silence deep— Conviction rising from the street. He cried aloud, “Lift up your heads— He reigns now, raised from the dead!” [Bridge – quiet, stripped back, emotional tone] “What must we do?” they cried in shame. “Repent, believe in Jesus’ name. Be washed, be filled, be born anew— This promise stands for even you.” [Extended Guitar Solo – emotional, wailing, spiritual fire] [Final Chorus – full lift, soaring vocals, strong finish] Tongues of fire, Spirit poured, Heaven cracked and power roared. From trembling lips to thunderous sound, The Word of God went world-bound. He lit the match, He tore the veil— Now nothing forged in hell prevails. Born in fire, born to run— The church lit up and the race begun. [Outro – fading organ and ambient guitar swells] And it started in Jerusalem… But it won’t end… ‘till the fire spreads to every land.
