**[Verse 1]** You want me to wait til fate decides it's time to fill my plate That's not an option in my book, 'cause the next chapter's already late So many gurus preach "stop midday, sit still, meditate" Cute advice for a life that don't look like the one I gotta navigate I'd love to daydream, take the scenic route, breathe But that's how I know they never lived what I live, what I mean when I say I don't have the luxury My bank account ain't linin' up with the leaps and bounds that I need to take in order to become what they consider "great" **[Pre-Chorus]** Couldn't see it clear back when I started, faced my biggest fears Some days felt like standing still after years and years But I kept it moving anyway **[Chorus]** I'm not waitin' on fate to decide when I eat Writin' my next chapter while they stuck on repeat Ladies, the road never gonna look fair But I promise you, I've been right there Life's gonna drop the other shoe What goes up comes down, comes back around to you So wherever you're standing, take the next step **[Verse 2]** Started this journey broke and unsure, teaching myself as I climbed Nobody handed me a shortcut, I built it one hour at a time Some days it felt like nowhere, like the work wasn't adding up But every rep in the dark is why I don't flinch when it gets tough Ladies, I'm not here to sugarcoat it, I'm here to hand you the map The one nobody drew for me when I fell in every trap So when they tell you patience, and you got babies and bills due Just know the hustle you call desperate is really just you pushing through **[Chorus]** I'm not waitin' on fate to decide when I eat Writin' my next chapter while they stuck on repeat Ladies, the road never gonna look fair But I promise you, I've been right there Life's gonna drop the other shoe What goes up comes down, comes back around to you So wherever you're standing, take the next step **[Bridge]** It’s time to take the next step… Every setback just a setup, I'll put money on it, yes Every setback just a setup, so keep going, take the next step **[Final Chorus]** I'm not waitin' on fate to decide when I eat Writin' my next chapter, I don't do repeat Ladies, the road never gonna look fair But I promise you, I've been right there Life's gonna drop the other shoe What goes up comes down, comes back around to you So wherever you're standing, don’t give up yet, this feeling right here just means you’re next!
