The Concierge

+ Show full styles

Good evening... Welcome back again. The usual suite? Or somewhere new? A smile... A room key... A name I've heard before... Funny how familiar faces Never tell me who they're looking for. [Pre-Chorus] I don't ask questions. I don't need to know. People leave more answers Than they ever show. I'm just the concierge... Holding doors all day. Watching strangers write their stories Then quietly walk away. Every key has memories. Every room keeps time. Everybody leaves something behind... Long before checkout time. A suitcase came on Tuesday. It never left the hall. Two guests checked in together. Only one returned the call. Fresh flowers in the lobby. A newspaper by the chair. Somebody kept looking Like they knew someone was there. The elevators whisper. The chandeliers don't lie. You learn to read a room Without asking why. I'm just the concierge... I remember every face. Not because I know their stories... Because I know their pace. Some arrive in silence. Some leave in the rain. Some spend one unforgettable night... And never come again. A wedding ring... Left in room eight-oh-three. A passport... Collected by someone else. A taxi waiting... Long after midnight. The driver never sounded his horn. He simply... Waited. I'm just the concierge... I polish brass and glass. But every now and then A life slips quietly past. If these walls could talk They'd never tell a name. Some stories are protected... That's the nature of the game. Good morning... Safe travels... I hope... We never have to meet again...
