--- The last song on "The Neon Cowgirl Experience" album. :-) Been a fun ride brought to life by the suggestion of trying to combine Country and EDM. Wanted a "retrospective" song that covered elements of all the other songs. Lines from the other songs are included and I think blend rather well. First gens were a bit "over the top" with the vocals which I know the persona can get a bit "yelly" . . . lol. So, decided to dial it down a bit with the musical prompt and make it feel a bit more like a intimate recalling of the experiences provided by the other songs. Pretty much got all the elements I was looking for. Especially happy with the "turning the page" repeat during the musical interlude. Was certainly a fun project and I will keep the persona around and might continue making songs with it at some point. If you enjoyed any of the songs on the album, thanks for listening and giving a like! ~David --- [Musical Intro] [Soft acoustic guitar motif that subtly echoes themes from earlier songs, ambient swell underneath] [Verse 1] Started with a spark in a crowded room Boots too big and a restless tune Chased neon nights and foreign skies Learned to read truth in strangers’ eyes Rode that bull ‘til it threw me down Spun in silence without a sound Built my storm from a single flame Called it growth, called it pain [Pre-Chorus] Every high, every fall Every almost-lost-it-all Wrote a line across these years In sweat and hope and unshed tears [Chorus] If you’ve been with me through the fire Through the doubt and the desire Through the swipes and the goodbyes Through the quiet battle cries Then you’ve seen the heart I gave The storms I learned to ride like waves This ain’t the end, it’s just the stage Where we close one book… and turn the page [Verse 2] Called home just to hear my name Learned not being okay ain’t shame Danced alone inside my head Laughed at ghosts I used to dread Found a love that let me stand Not a cage, but open hands And somewhere in the chaos bright I stopped waiting for the lightning strike [Pre-Chorus] All the cracks, all the seams Wove themselves into my dreams Every scar became a sign That the next road would be mine [Chorus] If you’ve been here for the climb For the off-beat out-of-time For the fearless and afraid For the bets I almost never made Then you know this heart won’t cage It only grows with every stage This ain’t goodbye, don’t be afraid We’re just closing one chapter… and turning the page [Musical Interlude] [Blend of album motifs: brief tango rhythm hint, subtle glitch flicker, uplifting EDM swell, acoustic grounding it all — feels like memories overlapping] [Bridge – Quiet Reflection] Every song a photograph Every tear a paragraph Every laugh a neon sign Marking where I crossed a line This scrapbook’s thick with who I’ve been But blank pages whisper in the wind [Final Chorus – Expansive] If you felt seen somewhere inside If you found strength you used to hide If one line helped you stand up brave Then we built this wave The story’s still got miles to go More truth to find, more seeds to sow Tonight we breathe, tomorrow we rage Thank you for walking this page by page This ain’t the end of what we made It’s just the spark before the blaze Close the cover, don’t disengage We’re just turning… Turning the page [Outro] [Acoustic fades, soft rising synth like dawn breaking] Still becoming. Still alive. See you on the next ride. [Musical Ending]
