The Genesis Archive

V6

[Intro] (A low, rumbling drone. The rhythmic, echoing sound of footsteps on metal grates. Suddenly, a sequence of mechanical clicks as automated backup lights flicker on, accompanied by a rising, bright synthesizer chord.) [Verse 1] [Male Vocal] We leave the looping radio, descend the concrete stairs, Past blast doors sealed in heavy rust, through cold, unmoving air. I thought we reached the bottom floor, the end of the design, But cables thick as serpent coils run deeper down the line. [Female Vocal] Our flashlights cut the heavy dust, a labyrinth of steel, A quiet tomb of tangled wires, a world that doesn't feel. But then I see the console deck, untouched by ash or rain, I hold my breath and press the glass to wake the sleeping brain. [Chorus] [Both] Welcome to the archive, the memory of the earth, A billion glowing terabytes, awaiting a rebirth. We thought we found a rescue, a hand to pull us through, But we just found the blueprints to build the world anew. The history of a fallen race, protected in the deep, We are the ones who woke it from its cryogenic sleep. [Verse 2] [Female Vocal] A sudden surge of blinding light, a high electric pitch, The silent giant comes alive with every turned-on switch. The pillars rise into the dark, a forest made of glass, The servers flashing green and gold beneath the heavy brass. [Male Vocal] I read the lines upon the screen, I cannot comprehend, The code to heal the poisoned soil, the ways to make it mend. The math to build the grid again, the maps of every shore, The things we thought were burned away and lost forevermore. [Verse 3] [Male Vocal] The DNA of every seed, the words of every song, The very best of who we were, before it all went wrong. It’s not a weapon for the war, it’s not a place to hide, It is the spark of Genesis, kept safely here inside. [Female Vocal] We came here as the desperate, just looking for a door, But now we hold the sacred flame we have to answer for. The ghosts are whispering in the wires, they put it in our hands, To take this seed of data out across the barren lands. [Bridge] [Male Vocal] We came to find a shelter! [Female Vocal] But we became the guard! [Both] To shield the light of everything inside a world so hard! The signal was a tragedy, but led us to the cure, Now we must keep the archive safe, and we must make it endure! [Outro] (The driving electronic rock beat transitions into a swelling, hopeful orchestral arrangement. The rhythm becomes triumphant.) [Both] The memory of the earth... is waking up. (The sound of humming servers grows louder, harmonious and warm, pulsing like a heartbeat. Fade to silence.)
