Father's Love Is More Pitiful
[intro instrumental] [Verse 1] Jobe told by David the father's love is pitiful, Willing to die for them, yet mom is not marked off paying her life to bring in, it's dutiful the man, the father, Jobe argues on, till told to find, So he obeys his king and seeks, in kind. Finds a poor father, with one wife, twelve sons, Asks to stay, eats daily, as the prayer runs. He shares first with his wife, then his guest, Jobe and the boys, each portioned with the rest. Leftovers are his portion of GOD's pure word, Trusting it's enough, prays to be unstirred. Asking GOD to aid his unbelief, his plight, The father, though pitiful, seeks the light. [Chorus] The father has no privilege to voice his mind, The mother stays at home, steadfast and kind. He builds on his blood, the Passover no longer passed, Bearing his cross, brings her blameless, steadfast. Christ is risen, he shepherds the lost, Israel's patron, at any cost. Trusts in GOD, the one true Father, The Son of GOD brings daughters after. [Verse 2] Jobe asks to buy one boy, the father says no, For he's not privileged to choose, he lets it go. Duty in equality, his role to command, To lead, never falter, with firm, gentle hand. Believe GOD is life, the wife is sons' gate, Children loved equally, such is their fate. Better to raise his hand, die for their sake, Whole and holy, the LORD's path to take. Bearing the cross as Christ for his bride, Jobe asks the mother, one day, to decide. Returns to find a boy missing from the home, And Jobe at the table, while the father feels alone. [Verse 3] The father sets the table, leaving out Jobe and he, Places the twelfth boy, equally, you see. Grabs his coat, heads out to find Jobe, "Give me my son," he pleads, robed. Jobe stands firm, "I bought him fair from his mother, Go back, you can't win, don't bother. I’m a valiant man of Israel’s war, King David's right hand, go back, no more." Yet the father kept coming, relentless in plight, "My son by GOD will eat with family tonight." Jobe, knowing he lost, gives a mule and gold, Says to thank the king, sees the father's soul.
