The Last Sunrise at Diablo Ridge [NDC TT]
[Intro – “Dawn hum”] "One breath for the living… one breath for the dead..." The sun don’t rise for mercy, son — it rises to watch you bleed. [Section I – “The Walk”] I count each step like a prayer, dust on my tongue, iron in my stare. The sky burns red — the ridge hums low — and every crow knows my name. [Section II – “The Distance Between”] He’s standin’ there, like a shadow cast by the end of time. No words. Just wind, and the weight of a promise we both forgot to break. [Interlude – “Sun climbs higher”] (ooh.. ooh...) The gun feels heavy, like the truth. I could end this story clean — but stories don’t end clean out here. [Section III – “Trigger Dream”] Fire flashes — lightning in my chest — the world folds to a scream of brass and dust. He falls — or maybe I do — I can’t tell who drew first. [Section IV – “Bloodlight Refrain"] The sun climbs, the ridge glows gold, my hand’s still warm but my heart’s gone cold. No one wins at Diablo Ridge — just men too proud to kneel. [Outro – “After the Smoke”] Tell my horse to wander home. Tell the sky I kept my word. Tell the crows... they can have what’s left...
