Cold rain, road spray, dawn break through fog glass, Phone buzz, slow pulse, another week moving fast, Coffee black, back cracked, loading stress in the chest, Trying to act composed while my brain won’t rest. Kids sleeping peaceful while my mind spins violent, Outside storm sirens, inside thoughts loud silent, One half father, one half pressure container, One half calm speaker, one half burnt-out danger. Flood roads, missed codes, work calls stacking high, Everybody wants answers right this second in time, One bloke panics, one bloke passes blame, One bloke weaponises every email chain. And I get it, trust me, everybody stretched thin, Modern life got grown men emotionally cave in, Bills climb, timelines, all gas no brakes, Whole world one bad month from mentally breaking. Still I walk in calm-faced trying to stabilise, Like if I stay grounded maybe everybody survives, Slow breaths, low tone, measured response, Trying to stop stress storms becoming lifelong. But internally? Pressure pressed chest stress stretched thin, Dead-set headset red-text inbox spin, Mind-race high-stakes five plates rotate, Floodgates heart rate vibrate no breaks. Phone crack, tone snap, blame game sideways, Rain lash, train crash, deadlines Fridays, Soul bent, smoke scent, old temptations whisper, “Escape this weight mate” — nah… not this picture. Because I’ve BEEN there. Mind flights, night highs, chemically lifted, Deep-space spirit-chasing mentally drifting, Third-eye wordplay, cosmic conversations, Temporary revelations without transformation. Some moments felt sacred, I can’t even lie, Felt connected to everything under the sky, But every insight faded back into haze, When reality returned in the light of day. Kids still need breakfast. Life still needs living. And healing ain’t healing if the clarity’s rented. That hit me heavy. No shortcut soul-work through external escape, No mushroom messiah gonna permanently save, No borrowed peace if the roots ain’t grown, No finding yourself while abandoning home. So now I sit sober with the storms in my skull, Learning real growth means feeling it all, Not numbing pain but understanding the source, Not escaping the battle but changing the course. Deep breath… Rain slowed. Night settled. Kids laughing faint through the hallway echo, Lisa half asleep saying “you coming to bed bro?” And suddenly the weight don’t feel quite the same, Like maybe peace ain’t something you chemically chase. Maybe it’s this. Messy life. Hard days. People you love. Still showing up anyway. But then the pressure loops BACK in circles — Fast-thought sharp-talk dark clouds incoming, Bills due kids shoes work crews all running, Flooded freeways, missed pays, stress haze rising, Everybody crisis-mode catastrophising. And I’m centre-stage trying to centre these men, While internally hanging by a psychological thread, Zen-mode breath coach dead-broke philosopher, Meditating mentally through a corporate apocalypse. But listen — If I lose me trying to rescue you, Then both of us sink with a broken view, Can’t carry your storm and mine combined, That’s two drowning souls in a one-man mind. So now I protect peace like a sacred space, Slow speech, deep breaths, grounded through the rain, Still flawed, still fried, still learning restraint, Still finding small beauty inside human pain. And maybe strength ain’t “never break”, Maybe strength is bending without losing shape, Maybe growth ain’t loud mystical signs above, Maybe growth is patience, presence, purpose and love. Now the beat builds heavy while the truth gets clearer — Soul scars, slow starts, no mask needed, Storm-heart, old parts finally defeated, Clear mind, real time, no false transcendence, Self-worth built internal not substance dependent. Stand tall, rain falls, ten toes planted, Life hard, still dance through the madness, Dad-mode, work-zone, spirit still evolving, Not running from pain now — consciously solving. Pressure turned lessons, stress turned vision, Past pain fuelled a stronger position, Still imperfect but finally awake, Not because I escaped — because I stayed.
