[Verse 1] It is always encouraged To take the road less traveled For many a choice For you it unraveled. Goals may appear simple And without much resistance Often present a challenge Without continued persistence. [Pre-Chorus] All you have overcome The struggles you’ve faced Have been more than discouraging Through faith, they’re replaced. [Chorus] You are the best of me You are the best of me I see it in your hands I hear it when you speak You are the best of me You are the best of me Your strength is in your name Your heart is what I keep [Verse 2] Replaced by an attitude Filled with humility Character of unmatched integrity For the prideful, futility. This character you’ve developed It is clear for all to see Your dad needs you to know You are the best of me. [Bridge] When the days ran hard You stayed steady When the world said quit You stood ready No gold, no crown Could say it better What I passed on to you Lives on forever [Chorus] You are the best of me You are the best of me I see it in your hands I hear it when you speak You are the best of me You are the best of me Your strength is in your name Your heart is what I keep
