Two Nights Without Sleep

[INTRO] WHIIIIIIIIIDESIIIIIIIIIDE! One night? You can call it a party. Two nights? Different story. WHAT?! Still awake. [HOOK] Two nights without sleep, city moving underneath, Eyes wide while the whole world settles into dreams, Two nights without sleep, every shadow looking deep, Started chasing Friday— NOW I CAN'T REMEMBER WHAT DAY IT IS THIS WEEK! Two nights without sleep, everything feels out of place, Sunrise on the window but I still see midnight in the haze, Two nights without sleep, every thought running free, Party started yesterday— NOW YESTERDAY FEELS LIKE A MEMORY OF A MEMORY! [VERSE 1] First night was beautiful. Music. Lights. Crowd. Smoke. Laughter. Second morning came. Nobody really cared. Everybody joked about being tired. Then somebody said: “Let's keep going.” That's where the line moved. The party became persistence. The fun became momentum. The momentum became something harder to explain. Meth sits in the background of the story, but I'm not making it glamorous. I'm writing the cost of staying wired: Dry eyes. Restless thoughts. Short temper. Time distortion. The inability to settle. That's the character now. Not invincible. Exhausted. WHIIIIIIIIIDESIIIIIIIIIDE! The room looks different because I've been staring at it too long. Same couch. Same table. Same curtains. Same bottle. But somehow every object feels unfamiliar. That's what no sleep does inside the narrative. It bends the ordinary. I rhyme: “Insomnia imagery, Temporal trickery, Fractured chronology, Mind losing symmetry.” WHAT?! Then: “Day one, Day two, Same room, New view, Sun up, Sun through, Can't remember what the hell I was supposed to do.” The beat pauses. Silence. Then the bass comes back. That's the feeling. Time isn't moving normally anymore. [VERSE 2] Second day afternoon. That's the strange part. The world is awake. Stores open. Cars moving. People going to work. Dogs barking. Kids heading somewhere. Everybody living normally. And I'm still carrying the night. That's when the party stops feeling glamorous. Because nightlife is supposed to end. Morning is supposed to reset you. Sleep is supposed to erase the edges. But without it, the edges stay sharp. Every sound gets irritating. Every conversation feels longer. Every little problem feels enormous. That's the deterioration. Not some Hollywood hallucination. Just a person becoming less capable of handling ordinary life. I'm stacking: “Short fuse, Dark room, Bad mood, Same tune.” Then: “Overstimulated, Underrated, Sleep-deprived and overstated, Every little conversation feels like an interrogation.” WHIIIIIIIIIDESIIIIIIIIIDE! The room gets quieter. Nobody's dancing anymore. Somebody's sleeping on the couch. Someone else is staring at their phone. Another person finally leaves. One person asks: “You good?” The answer: “Yeah.” But it doesn't sound convincing. That's the moment. When “yeah” means: “Don't ask me again.” [BRIDGE] TWO NIGHTS! WHAT?! NO SLEEP! TWO NIGHTS! STILL AWAKE! WHIIIIIIIIIDESIIIIIIIIIDE! THAT'S NOT A PARTY! [VERSE 3] Second night arrives. That's when the title finally means something. Not two nights of celebration. Two nights of escape. That's darker. The first night was about pleasure. The second is about avoiding the quiet. That's the psychological shift. You don't keep going because the party is getting better. You keep going because stopping means hearing yourself. That's where the song gets honest. I'm writing: “Nighttime anesthesia, Temporary amnesia, Morning asks questions, but nobody wants to answer.” WHAT?! Then double-time: “Same shoes, Same room, Same smoke, Same gloom, Same jokes, Same tune, Whole life compressed into two nights.” WHIIIIIIIIIDESIIIIIIIIIDE! The beat strips down. Just kick. Bass. Tick. I say: “Two nights.” Kick. “Without sleep.” Tick. “Two nights.” Kick. “Still awake.” Then everything crashes back. That's the climax. The party has become endurance. And endurance isn't fun. That's the first unmistakable crack in the fantasy. The lights aren't magical anymore. They're harsh. The music isn't freedom anymore. It's noise. The room isn't a kingdom anymore. It's somewhere everybody needs to leave. And morning isn't the enemy. Morning is the rescue. That's how far the story has moved. A few tracks ago, we were fighting sunrise. Now we're waiting for it. [FINAL HOOK] Two nights without sleep, city moving underneath, Eyes wide while the whole world settles into dreams, Two nights without sleep, every shadow looking deep, Started chasing Friday— NOW I CAN'T REMEMBER WHAT DAY IT IS THIS WEEK! Two nights without sleep, everything feels out of place, Sunrise on the window but I still see midnight in the haze, Two nights without sleep, every thought running free, Party started yesterday— NOW YESTERDAY FEELS LIKE A MEMORY OF A MEMORY! [OUTRO] Two nights. No sleep. No party. Just morning. WHIIIIIIIIIDESIIIIIIIIIDE! Close the curtains? No. Open them. Let the sun in. CUT.
